Your comments on ethical travel are really insightful. It’s so true that the Western world doesn’t look back on itself very often. And most people don’t even give much consideration towards ethically travelling (just think of how many people still ride elephants).

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and share your thoughts! And yes, elephant riding is a good example. Thankfully, there’s a lot more conversation on that topic. I think people are coming around. 😊

This is seriously one of the most helpful travel posts I have EVER come across! I’ve booked a flight going to Myanmar for 1 month in February, and you bet I will be revisiting your post many times. I had no idea that I could use Chase Ultimate Rewards for booking tours in Myanmar – I will definitely look into it. Thanks so much for this informational post!!

Great article with wonderful pictures! I would add Hpa-An with their monastery on the mountain, Mawlamyine with the largest reclining Buddha in the world and maybe Napyidaw for one day exploration. Checking out the in-famous 20 lanes highway is very surreal experience 🙂 I am really hoping that I will come back to Myanmar one day and will see the Inle lake which you recommend.
